RECTOR OF BOURTON ON THE WATER with Clapton and the Rissingtons
The Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester, seeks to appoint an imaginative, collaborative priest, committed to reaching out with the good news of the gospel to all ages, to serve in this lively and missional benefice in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Centred around the attractive and active village of Bourton on the Water (pop c 3300) the Benefice includes the recently reordered Parish Church of St Lawrence, Bourton, together with the Parish Churches of the villages of Clapton, Little Rissington, Wyck Rissington and Great Rissington as well as an ecumenical church plant in Upper Rissington (‘the Curve’).
Supported by an active and enthusiastic team of lay leaders and a House for Duty Associate Priest, the parishes are looking for a Rector who will be an encouraging, enabling and energising presence, committed to the growth of all the churches as well as the support of current congregations, an able communicator who is happy to work with and across a variety of worship styles (from contemporary to more traditional).
Bourton is served by excellent schools and surrounded by beautiful countryside.
For an informal discussion about the role contact the Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Ven Phil Andrew on 01452 835594 or 07498 052045. Full details and an application form can be found at http://ift.tt/2yyXSYH
