Pilgrimage to the Holy Land 2018

St Peter’s in Winchcombe is arranging a pilgrimage to the Holy Land next Easter.  A vacancy has arisen for a couple sharing a twin bedded room.

What pilgrims can expect

The 8 day pilgrimage starting on Easter Monday next year on 2nd April will be centred on Jerusalem, and the Sea of Gallilee, and will include visits to Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jericho, and other historic sites from The Bible.  We are not limited to an established and inflexible itinerary from a commercial tour operator. Flights, and accommodation have already been arranged.  Pilgrims will need to ensure they have comprehensive insurance including cover for disruption of flights which is not expensive but sensible.

The Interreligious Coordinating Council (ICCI) in Israel in Israel have assisted in producing our outline programme. ICCI was founded in 1991 to further understanding and communication between members of different faith communities and to build foundations for lasting fellowship.  It is an umbrella organisation that works with about sixty Jewish, Muslim, and Christian organizations in Israel including Jewish-Arab groups, interfaith forums, universities, and museums.

Accommodation

Accommodation for 22 pilgrims has been booked at the two pilgrim houses shown below. These provide comfortable en suite bedrooms, good food, and a warm welcome. All meals apart from lunch are included.

  1. i) Ecce Homo on the Via Doloroso  – This location is very special. It brings you right into the heart of historic Jerusalem.   All holy places are within easy walking distance and Ecce Homo itself is a location revered by Christians for its importance in the Passion of Jesus.       http://ift.tt/1HLbEYs
