#ourLIFEstory By Wendy Ruffle, a Pioneer Minister in Tewkesbury

Tewkesbury Medieval FestivalOver a weekend at the beginning of July we were involved in the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival. This at the largest battle re-enactment in Europe and this year was the most successful we have ever had. I worked alongside a team of volunteers from Tewkesbury Churches Together and we had a 12×6 meter marquee with a mock medieval chapel and a large area of floor space given over to free medieval style craft for families and also story telling. We also used the Jesus Deck (click here to find out more about this product) for the first time which brought incredible results.

Pioneer Minister Wendy RuffleFive people gave their lives to Christ and many people received healing through prayer ministry. Hundreds of families enjoyed spending time with us making shields, knights masks, glass painting, creating candle holders and much more.

Within Tewkesbury Abbey on the Saturday evening we had Compline, Medieval style,(our males from the choir singing plain song in monks outfits!)  to which over 300 people attended. We also had over 100 people attend our family Eucharist on the Sunday morning held on the ‘Kings Camp’ on the battle field itself, also attended by many re-enactors.
